Chapter 98 - Mysterious Kidnapper | 98
Sugihara\'s familiar face appeared in front of Song Lei.
"He- Hey!" She greeted Song Lei awkwardly.
"Hey," Song Lei said with a wide smile on his face. Because of the skill "The Master" Song Lei could easily perceive Sugihara.
"I thought you weren\'t going to pick me for a second," Sugihara said. Song Lei rolled his eyes.
"Well... I wasn\'t going to pick anyone, not just you but... Anyways. Do I have to tell you about this place?" He asked while implying the New World.
"No. For some reason, I know what kind of situation I got myself into," Sugihara said.
"That\'s great then. Take care of me from now on."
"Sure," Sugihara answered. She then turned into a speck of light and got pulled into Song Lei\'s hand.
[Sugihara Tokiyo has been recalled. 1/2 Cooldown: 23:59:59]
Taking a deep breath, Song Lei left the bathroom.
\'Huh... I didn\'t miss this place even a little bit...\' He thought. He looked around the damp and murky room and sighed. \'Well... It\'s better than nothing.\'
Closing the door behind him, Song Lei took out his phone and stared at the hour. It had been one day since he had entered the remnant world, implying that the time rate was nearly 1:2.
He quickly left the room and rushed to the 7th floor to find out if anything had happened at all. When he entered the meeting room, he was met with Old Wolf, Damien, and He Lingxin. They all had grim expressions on their faces. Indicating that there was definitely a problem.
As soon as he entered the meeting room, all three turned their head towards Song Lei.
"Y- You\'re alive!" Damien shouted with excitement. He got up from his seat and went to Song Lei\'s side. "What happened to the others?" He asked. Song Lei raised one of his brows in response.
"What do you mean the others?" Song Lei asked.
"God... So you don\'t know?"
"Yes. I don\'t think I even know what I don\'t know," Song Lei sneered.
"Oh... It\'s Fu Ah, Lu Peng, and Gao Jing," Damien said. A frown appeared on Song Lei\'s face. "They disappeared."
"Like Xu Chang?"
"Like Xu Chang."
"Shit," Song Lei muttered while tapping his chin. He had thought that the culprit of Xu Chang\'s disappearance was the Secret Blood Order. He had just assumed that they had kidnapped her to their HQ or something. However, thinking about it deeper, it didn\'t make any sense for the Secret Blood Order to kidnap a nobody like Xu Chang.
Now, Song Lei was guessing that the culprit wasn\'t really the Secret Blood Order but someone entirely different. After all, the apartment had been cleared of the Order Members.
\'I wonder if there are other remnant worlds in this place...\' Song Lei thought. \'I should ask this to Isabel...\'
"So? What do you guys suggest we do now?" Song Lei asked. Everyone went into a deep silence as they all looked at each other\'s faces.
"We have no idea," Old Wolf said. "After all, there are so many places that they could\'ve gone to. I don\'t know what to say actually."
Song Lei nodded in affirmation. He was right.
"By the way... If you weren\'t kidnapped too, then where did you go?" Damien asked. Song Lei looked at him and started talking about the things he experienced from the part he was pulled into the remnant world.
After a long talk about the things Song Lei had experienced in the remnant world. Old Wolf slumped over the table
"The Secret Blood Order huh..." Old Wolf thought while touching his chin. "I think I remember the Alliance Leader talking about something like that. From what I can remember, they are mostly nobodies in the New World\'s human society."
"Well... From what I understand, they are hiding their abilities to some degree..." Damien deducted. "Unfortunately, we don\'t have any way to reach out to the main branch."
"There\'s not much we can do other than one thing," Old Wolf said. Everyone looked at him with anticipation. "We have to keep clearing the floors until we reach the top of the apartment."
While Old Wolf was talking, his words were cut in half by the whole apartment shaking. A banging noise came from the lower floors. Alarmed by the noises, all of them left the meeting room and went down to the lowest floor.
They looked at the repellent talismans that were still in the same place.
"There is no problem with the talismans. What is going on?" He Lingxin muttered. Everyone was wondering about the same situation. While they were brainstorming, the whole hallway was illuminated by a blinding light. They all had to cover their eyes and turn around to keep their retinas from getting burnt.
As the light disappeared as if it had never been there before, a few more bangs were heard and the whole place went silent. From then on, the nervous silence kept on going for a minute. The one to break the silence was Song Lei. He took a few steps and glanced into the corridor. The monsters that were initially occupying it had already disappeared into thin air. The only remaining thing was a sulfuric smell.
Song Lei took one of the remaining repellant talismans and held it in his hands before venturing into the floor. As he went out, he couldn\'t spot out anything weird with the place. He looked at the exit and realized that it had been blocked.
\'What...\'
As Song Lei was staring at the door, he felt the hairs on his neck standing up. He quickly dodged to the side and looked where the attack had come from. There were two people in black suits. Although they had really similar face shapes, one of them was a woman and the other one was a man. Seeing this, Song Lei assumed that they were relatives.
Hearing the commotion, all of the remaining branch members waiting in the staircase went out.
"Who are you?" Old Wolf asked calmly. The two in suits looked at each other and thought for some time.
"You wretches of the Secret Blood Order are destined to die today...."
