The Devil's Harem

Chapter 116

“You did well,” Daniel said as he drove his car out of the parking of the court. They have just gotten rid of the pestering reporters, always wanting more.

“It is nothing compared to you. I was just the means, but you used it to the max today,” Alex tried to be a bit humble.

“Too much humility can be seen as arrogance. And above all, I had everything served in a platter to me. If I couldn’t even use that, I should rather put my degree in the market,” Daniel said as he chuckled, looking at Alex. While Alex could only smile hearing him, not commenting anything on it.

“You know, I have been wanting to ask you something. How did you know that Suzie was involved in all this?” Daniel asked.

“To be perfectly honest, I did nothing different. I just wanted to be thorough, so I tracked the places Abir and Suzie visited on the day of the so-called incident. Abir was quite easy, but for Suzie, I had to dig around a bit more, and her movement in the last few days, I found them a bit suspicious. After that, I told you everything. You got Karen into the loop. From there, it was all Karen working on the details in such a short period.” Abir told Daniel.

“Still, to gather so much in such a short time. It’s phenomenal. I don’t suppose getting something out of those from Club Rosaro was something easy,” Daniel asked further.

.....

“I had some help,” Alex said without naming Margaret.

And since Alex didn’t name anyone and was not very keen on divulging much, Daniel didn’t ask any further.

“But we have to give credit to Karen as well. She surely was at the top of her game,” Daniel said, praising Karen, “So where should I take you? I would love to celebrate with you, but this is only one of the few other pending cases I have to go through.” Daniel explained. Being the Head of the Legals wasn’t an easy task. He had to go through a major chunk of the cases on his own while heading the discussion of every single one of them.

“No need, just drop me at the company. I have my motorbike parked in the parking. From there, I will leave for home now.” Alex was quick to tell.

“Sure,” Daniel wasn’t persistent either. He nodded right away and headed straight to Theation.

“So, how is it working under Karen?” As they got close to their destination, Daniel asked.

“It is okay,” Alex said, nodding to Daniel, but Daniel could see from his face that everything was not that okay. In the past few days that he has been in contact with Alex, Daniel has felt that Alex was very expressive, hardly shying away to say what he had in his heart.

“I must thank Karen,” Daniel said as he shifted his eyes from the road towards Alex, “Seriously, I must thank her. When I asked for help, I was sure that she won’t be able to personally help me. But I hoped that she would at least send someone reliable to me. And I will be honest, I was not very relieved to see you in front of me that day,” Daniel chuckled as he told Alex how he felt about him the first time.

“I...” Alex wanted to say something, but Daniel cut him short.

“I wanted someone who could take orders and be quick in executing them. And to be honest, interns are hardly able to do that. But you proved me wrong,” Daniel continued, “And I think Karen felt the same way before she sent you to me...”

“... Maybe she wanted you to have a few more friends. And let me tell you, that is generally a good thing,” Daniel winked at Alex.

“This shows that she believes in you and want to make sure that you won’t hit any obstacles given that you work hard,” Daniel was the only one talking while Alex patiently listened to him, “I am sure you have heard the rumours out in public, about how men are treated at Theation. Believe me, they are not baseless.” Daniel brought in the rumour that Alex felt was only a rumour and nothing more.

“You can say that you and I are the only exceptions in this scenario. For me, it’s because I am a friend of Jessica’s, well, somewhat of a friend, and I am very high on the hierarchy. You, on the other hand, my friend, are lucky enough to work under Karen, the nicest thing you can hope for.”

“So you are saying it was all planned? Karen thought of it all? Why?” Alex asked.

Daniel nodded, “I am pretty sure she had everything covered in her plans. As for the result, I think she wants you to stay at Theation for a long, long time,” Alex smiled when he told Alex this, and with a mischievous grin, murmured, “As for the cause of it all, you should know better.”

“What?” Alex couldn’t get the last part.

“Nothing. We are here,” Daniel stopped the car as he said. They were outside Theation.

“I will see you later then,” Alex said. Picking up his bag, he was about to get off the car when Daniel stopped him.

“You know, since you are done working with me, you should let Karen know that you are going to be there in the PR department starting tomorrow. You should give her a heads up,” Daniel said, looking at Alex, “Face to face.”

And with that, Daniel giving Alex his last piece of advice, drove away in his car.

And Alex stood there looking at the car getting smaller and smaller, thinking about Daniel’s words. When the car was finally out of sight, Alex turned and looked up high, towards his company building. Part of him wanted to go there and see Karen, whom he had not had a glimpse of for the past couple of days. While the other part of him was still hesitant to do so, maybe because of his pride.

‘I will have to face her tomorrow anyway. No need to speed up the process,’ Alex thought and made his way to the parking.

The next day,

As soon as Alex walked into the PR department, he could feel the gloominess in the air. The usually lively PR department was engulfed in silence. Well, given the circumstances, something along these lines was expected.

As he silently walked in, he found the ladies on their desks, listless like a zombie staring at their monitors.

“I am done. I can finally go home,” Ellaine was the first one to throw her arms. Stretching, she looked at Hazel beside her.

“Yeah, me too. I stink like a corpse. Luckily the newbie is not here,” Hazel said as he looked at Ellaine while adjusting her bra straps. And to be honest, it was not just the ladies, but even the room smelled a bit.

“Anyone of you heard from Alex? How is he doing there?” Jennifer asked without averting her eyes.

“Don’t know. And to be honest, I am not sure how to strike a conversation with Alex after what happened the last time he was here,” Hazel said.

“Yeah, he was not his normal self at the restaurant as well,” Ellaine nodded to Hazel.

“You know it’s his fault for not appreciating you guys,” Amber chipped in, “Can’t even take a joke.” All this while Alex stood by the entrance, listening to them.

“It was the events that got the better of him. You can’t just ignore the fact that he was going through something at that very moment, and Karen caught him on his bad day.” Jennifer was quick to defend Alex.

“I just hope they are not making him run errands for them,” Hazel changed the direction the conversation was heading.

Alex felt touched hearing the ladies care about him so much. His thoughts could not help but drift to his own la-la land. Like a monarch, Alex laid his hand on the lap of Karen while Jennifer fed him with exquisite fruits. Ellaine and the other ladies, on the other hand, dressed as fairies, entertained him with their sizzling moves.

“After all, he is our exclusive errand boy. Hahaha...” Ellaine laughed.

*Crack!

Alex could not even enjoy his fantasy before he could even enjoy it, ‘How can he forget his place in this department?’ Alex thought, remembering his place here.

“Cough! Cough!” Not wanting to hear them make fun of him anymore, Alex coughed, bringing their attention to himself.

When the ladies turned towards the source, they were pleasantly surprised to see Alex, “Awww! our newbie is here.”

“We missed you so much. We were just talking about you.”

“Yeah, I heard.” Alex could not hold back his sarcasm.

The girls giggled, listening to Alex.

“Here, though I know what you think of me, I will be the greater one in the pack,” Alex said as he placed the bags in his hands on the table, “I brought you guys breakfast on my way.”

Alex had brought coffee and breakfast with him on his way to Theation. He wanted to put behind everything that happened that day and part with the ladies on a brighter note.

Hearing Alex, the ladies gathered around him in high spirits.

“Now that’s what we call a perfect err...newbie.”

“Come, let me appreciate you with a hug.”

“How can a hug suffice. Everyone needs to chip in.” Hazel suggested. And with that, everyone made their move.

And within moments, Alex found himself drowned in a wave of titties. The softness he felt on his chest made a certain part of his body bulge.

Hazel was the last one, and when she felt something hard poke her, whispered in Alex’s ear, “Looks like this is not enough to satisfy you. Do you want more?” Hazel smirked.

“I need to let Chief know that I am back,” Alex said, and parting from Hazel’s hug. He picked up a coffee and a packet as he hurried towards Karen’s office.

“What do you think will happen when they get face to face?” Amber was the curious one.
