Chapter 139
“I don’t understand you...” Veronica grumbled as she threw her handbag and sat in front of Jessica, staring at her with dissatisfied eyes.
“One minute you are thinking something, and the other you just go on a tangent. Don’t you think you at least owe me an explanation if not to this twerp?” Veronica asked as she pointed at Abir, who was sitting behind Jessica. Hearing Veronica, Abir, who was trying to listen to their conversation, shirked back into his chair.
But as if she was lost in her own world, Jessica ignored every word of Veronica’s as she continued to look outside the window.
She woke up this morning feeling something hard down her belly. Half-asleep as she opened her eyes, she found a face in front of her. She was afraid at first, but when she looked clearly, it was the familiar face of Alex. Memories of last night came flooding to her, and she felt her heart go into turmoil.
Looking at Alex’s sleeping face, Jessica felt he was quite cute, which was the polar opposite of what she felt about him from the time she first laid eyes on him. It was during the presentation he gave in the all-department meeting that she found him staring at her without blinking. That time she thought of him as nothing more than a pervert who got into her company for the very reason most of the male does.
But everything changed in a day. Her hate transformed into something even she could not describe in mere words. Was it gratitude or love, she did not know, but there was certainly no hate, maybe some resentment, but not even a tinge of loathing was left in her heart for him.
.....
With these thoughts going through his brain, Jessica did not know how long she had been staring at Alex. Suddenly the guy was so loving. Jessica bent forward and planted a soft, gentle kiss on his lips.
“This is for everything you have done for me, good or bad,” Jessica whispered so as to not wake him up.
Saying so, Jessica slowly tried to get up. Alex’s long shaft was still inside her vagina and fully erect. Jessica could feel her Vaginal walls tighten up, but she resisted the pleasure and looked at Alex with a complaining look. How could he be this hard early in the morning? Even in sleep? But who could have told her that it was something normal for a healthy young man? She wouldn’t even know what morning wood was, or maybe she did.
But that aside, Jessica got off the sofa and made her way toward the washroom. Splashing her face with water and adjusting her dishevelled hairs, Jessica walked out of the washroom, still naked. Without wasting any time, she got dressed and pulling a thin blanket over Alex, tip-toed her way out of the room.
Closing the door behind her, Jessica went directly to her room only to find Veronica dressed in a black, glittering sling dress sleeping by her door. She had used her coat as a blanket.
However much Jessica gets annoyed by the useless stuff Veronica does, these small actions of hers, always manage to touch her heart. A smile bloomed on her face as she crouched down in front of Veronica and woke her up.
“Get up,” Jessica called out, patting Veronica’s shoulder, “This is no place to take a nap.”
“Ummm...” hearing Jessica, Veronica opened her eyes in annoyance, “What is it? Why are you in my room so early in the morning?”
“Your room?” Jessica giggled, “Are you sure you are not in the wrong room?”
“You just can’t let me sleep, can you?” Getting disturbed by Jessica, Veronica sat straight with a jolt, “Whose room am I in if not mine?” Veronica said and looked around with eyes half-open. But soon, her eyes were wide open in shock. All she could see was a long corridor on either side.
Then it struck her. After Jessica left to meet Alex in the evening, she never returned to her room. At first, Veronica did not notice, but when Jessica did not return for a couple of hours, she started to get worried. On top of that, she won’t even answer her calls.
Veronica looked for her everywhere. She went to Alex’s room, the reception, the hotel’s swimming pool and everywhere she could think of, but Jessica was nowhere to be found. Veronica even got Abir on the job of searching for Jessica, but it was of no help.
It was then that Veronica decided to look somewhere out of the hotel. And since many of the establishments ask for a certain level of elegance in the clothes their guests wear, she ran back to her room.
What followed next was the usual drill. Veronica visited all the nearby casinos and pubs in search of Jessica, and by the time she gave up, she was already drunk. Getting back to the hotel, she decided to ask one last time if Jessica was back. The man who helped Jessica was just getting off his shift, and from him, Veronica got to know that she was back.
Happy, annoyed and angry, Veronica headed straight for Jessica’s room. She was going to give Jessica a good scolding and, if possible, a nice beating. How dare she make her run all over Ullu worried about her, and she was back to her room, maybe enjoying a nice bubble bath.
Feeling wobbly and with shaky legs, Veronica stood in front of Jessica’s door, banging her door hard.
“Come out, you bitch,” Veronica yelled out for Jessica, “You couldn’t even call, could you?”
But there was no response from inside.
“Are you going to ignore me now?” Veronica yelled again, “Let me see...” Veronica almost fell to the ground, “Let me see how long are you going to ignore me. I won’t take a step from here,” and with that, Veronica sat on the ground in front of Jessica’s room.
What happened next was something Jessica could make sense of on her own.
“Bitch, do you know how worried I was?” Veronica stood up and pulled Jessica with her, “Where were you? Did something happen? Don’t tell me you got hurt or something? I knew it... I should have gone to the hospitals instead of sending that idiot.” Veronica checked Jessica all over.
“I am alright,” Jessica said, but Veronica could feel the tiredness in her voice.
“Are you sure?” Veronica asked, not sure if she should believe Jessica.
Jessica smiled, “I am alright... Just a bit tired,” Jessica said, putting her hand on Veronica’s shoulder, “Come... I have something to talk about.”
And that discussion led them to this private plane. Jessica did not want to spend any longer here in Ullu. For the next fifteen minutes or so, she persuaded Jessica that they should head back to Elenor. She was not feeling very good here. Veronica tried to have Jessica tell her the reason, but Jessica avoided doing that.
In the end, Jessica gave in, and within two hours, they were on the flight, ready to take off.
“Mam,” while Jessica was busy looking outside the window, the only air hostess walked up to her, “We are ready to take off.”
Jessica turned her head towards the air hostess and gave her a nod.
“So you were just ignoring me?”

“Damien, I need you here, back home as soon as possible,” George dialled a number but was directed to the voice mail.
“I know this is sudden and earlier than we expected, but the situation has become a bit complicated,” George continued to add, “Call me back as soon as possible.”
“And yeah, bring that girl with you,” George said and ended the call.

“Grandpa, we are coming back,” Jessica called his grandfather, who was quick to answer.
“Why?” Her grandfather blurted out.
“What’s with your tone?” Jessica asked, not very happy with his tone.
Realising his mistake, her grandfather let out a dry laugh, “Ohh... ho... ho... ho... What I meant was why are you coming a day before than expected?”
Not wanting for Veronica to hear, Jessica got up from her seat and walked to the back of the plane, “Something is not right, grandfather. Someone is targeting me, and I think it’s someone from the family.” Veronica told her grandfather.
“Puff...” Her grandfather, who had just drank a mouthful of water, sprayed it all out. ‘Does she suspect something?’ Grandfather was scared.
“What do you mean someone from the family is targeting you?” Grandfather asked.
“I was attacked, grandfather. Not many knew about this trip and where I was going,” Jessica told her grandfather, “I suspect someone in the family is irked and wants me gone.” Jessica expressed her doubt.
“Don’t... Don’t be silly. Why would anyone want you gone?” Her grandfather tried to brush away such thoughts from her mind. If the sprout of this doubt grew, she wouldn’t even leave him out of her scope.
“I can think of plenty of reasons, to be honest,” Jessica shrugged, “Don’t think I don’t know who all were behind the recent mess at Theation.” ℯd.cm
“Don’t go wild with your thoughts,” Her grandfather finally said, “Come home, and we will talk about it.”
“There is nothing to talk about, grandpa,” Jessica refused straightaway, “But I hope you will make it clear to everyone concerned. Enough is enough. I won’t take it lying down anymore.” And Jessica ended the call without giving her grandfather an opportunity to speak further.
But Jessica did not go back to her seat but stared at her phone with a frown.
‘You did not even ask about the attack, grandpa. Don’t tell me, you were...?’
