Chapter 887 Anchoring Spell.
Chapter 887 Anchoring Spell.
The mission had been very simple and it was the sort of mission the Jade Maidens had received many times from their father;
Head to one of the tens of thousands of worlds in Nirvana and rid it of the God-King who was getting the misguided idea to turn against the Cosmic Emperor\'s rule.
With Nirvana being completely in Hal\'s control, every single occurrence was well known to him and he could have intervened personally right from his magnificent throne without needing to lift a finger but he saw it as a stage for his little mischievous darlings to prove themselves.
Doting as he was, Hal refused to let his daughters believe they could simply take part in his conquest of the three realms just because they inherited boons from him and so he sent them out on the occasional mission to test their mettle.
It didn\'t take long for all five to find the missions boring and lacking any real challenge (Thereze was more vocal about this) but they had to obey their father and head out for this particular mission only to quickly find out things were not as they had expected.
Things had gotten out of hand quickly.
"We need reinforcements," Sylvie said after pulling Loretta towards herself and shielding them both from the attacks from the Chaotic horde before them.
"We can\'t... We agreed with him that we didn\'t need any help, remember?" Loretta said.
"But the situation is clearly different now," Sylvie said and pushed them away from the horde and far away from their attacks.
As she moved in the air, Sylvie stretched her hand and used divine energy to pull her sisters, Appoline, Nellie, and Thereze into the spherical shield she and Loretta were in.
"He still won\'t listen," Loretta said.
"Who won\'t listen?" Nellie asked while Appoline and Thereze tried to catch their breath after failing completely against the chaotic figure who appeared to have grown even stronger rather than weaker with the large number of zombies he had created.
"The Emperor," Loretta said,
"Call him Dad," Nellie muttered but Loretta ignored her,
"I\'ve been trying to reach him but the connection is cut off," Loretta said and as she spoke, her sisters tried to reach into their connection to their Father and found it was truly gone.
"He\'s abandoned us?" Thereze said and the bravado that was usually very clear on her face was now nowhere to be seen.
"Daddy," Nellie whimpered as though the silence between herself and her Father scared her more than the horde currently tossing attacks at Sylvie\'s spherical shield.
"Oh get a grip, he hasn\'t abandoned us. He can hear us right now... He\'s watching us," Sylvie said.
"Doesn\'t make a difference if he won\'t help," Appoline said.
"Well, we\'ll just have to show him we don\'t need help, won\'t we?"
"You were the first to ask for help," Loretta reminded her.
"I know but if we are not going to get it, we shouldn\'t sit around and bitch about it. For Father to accomplish his goals, he will battle Chaos, and if we are allowed to join the forces, we are likely to face a situation similar to or worse than this," Sylvie said.
"So what do we do?" Nellie asked.
"We do what we have to do," Sylvie said, "Cast an anchoring spell,"
*BANG!*
The shield Sylvie conjured was finally at its limit and with one final strike sent by the Chaotic figure itself, it shattered and tossed the sisters to separate regions in the Capital.
While they had their discussion in the short-lived protection of Sylvie\'s sphere, the infection had spread faster and farther than ever. The entire world was corrupted regardless of age and regardless of race or bloodline.
As soon as the last living being became infected by Chaos the atmosphere of the world became desolate having not to get actually lost that much of its population.
Knowing they would not be getting any help from outside forces, the sisters were of the mind that they either faced the billions of beings in the world, all of whom possessed similar scary independent strength, or they could get rid of the world itself and the infected beings all in one swoop, hence the suggestion of the Anchoring spell.
Separated, the sisters thought as one and flew up into the sky, out into the atmosphere of the world and the vacuum of space.
Nellie was back to her mischievously smiling self, Appoline looked convinced that Sylvie\'s suggested plan was the right plan, Thereze had regained her bravado, Sylvie looked more sure of herself than ever and Loretta smiled in ever-present and constant support.
As one, infected beings of the world stopped casting their spells since everyone had already been infected and by order of the chaotic figure who made it all possible, they flew up at the sisters.
Speaking of the sisters, they all formed themselves into a circle with Sylvie in the middle with her eyes closed. Loretta, Appoline, Nellie, and Thereze formed similar seals with their fingers, and in a Second, sapphire blue tendrils of their Bloodline energy charged out of them and into Sylvie who had a different seal formed.
When Sylvie opened her eyes, her sclera was gone and her eyes were a complete shade of gold that glowed brightly while teeming with Life energy that threatened to suffocate her sisters who held on and continued to lend her the power to do what needed to be done.
Seven golden Ankhs appeared and went around to create anchors for a white and gold pentagram that was then stamped into the surface of the world beneath them.
At this point, the infected beings were already out of their world and charging at the Sisters. It was quite weird to see infants of various ages, all deformed due to chaotic energy, charging at them but it did not shake the resolve of the sisters. In fact, the weird sight was not too out of place for them and the missions they had been occasionally charged with by their father.
The Anchoring spell Circle stretched until it covered every part of the world after which billions of white and gold tendrils shot out and into the heart of every single one of the infected beings to drag them right back into their world.
The Anchoring spell was a creation of Melinda Dane, the Cosmic Empress, to be cast with the use of her Bloodline energy. To use it on a landmass and population as large as that of this world, Sylvie required assistance hence the circle of support from her sisters.
The Anchoring spell was a trapping spell meant to grant the world a strong attraction to all those who could trace a connection to it which would make such targets easy pickings for the swiftness of the Cosmic Empress\'s sword.
Sylvie\'s need for the spell was not for easy pickings though but rather to make sure none of the infected beings survived the destruction of their world about it happen.
"Loretta," Sylvie called telepathically with a strain, and the brown-haired sister pulled herself out of the formation. Loretta\'s absence put more pressure on Sylvie but she held on.
Loretta dropped down into the world at immense speed and as she fell, she let out the full might she had inherited from the Cosmic Emperor.
The Chaotic figure was still feeling confused as to why his chaotic zombies appeared stuck to their world when it saw Loretta fall. It aimed to interrupt her descent with an attack but Loretta vanished from his sight before he could.
"She can\'t possibly be that fast!" the figure said in disbelief just as Loretta succeeded in borrowing into the very center of the world in one swift move.
\'There is only one reason to enter the center of this world and that\'s to destroy the core... Destroy the core and you destroy the world... Destroy the world and you ruin my Mission!\' the Figure quickly surmised what was about to happen,
"I won\'t let you," it yelled and its form swelled in evidence of an even higher degree of strength but it was too late;
Loretta was now in front of the World\'s core and she armed herself with her bow and charged a mighty spell arrow.
She aimed the arrow and let it fly.
Every bit of strength she had, whether in terms of cultivation or Bloodline, Loretta put into that arrow and the arrow met no obstacle it could not pierce through on its way to its target.
First, there was silence and then there was a deep rumbling from down below...
"No!" the figure said feeling massive but useless... It granted all its zombies even more chaotic imbuement in hopes that they break free of the Anchoring spell in a last-ditch attempt to save their world for the nefarious plan of its master but it was all for naught.
"No, No, No, No, No! You ruined EVERYTHING!!!*
*CRACK!* *CRACK!* *CRACK!*
*BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!*
