Chapter 145 Something Intense
After about one hour and some minutes in the air, the plane had finally landed at Unique City\'s airport and after making his way down the plane, it was time for him to start heading home.
Emma was sitting in the living room with her laptop sitting on the table in front of her.
She was busy working on her laptop but she couldn\'t fully concentrate and would constantly break her focus to look at the clock.
Looking at it now she could see that the time was 6:43 PM.
"He should be back anytime soon now." She muttered before turning her gaze back to her laptop\'s screen.
She continued doing what she was doing for about five minutes and just before she could raise her gaze to look at the clock again, she heard three knocks on the door.
The knocks came again before she slowly got up from the couch and made her way to the door.
She stared at it for a while before she pulled it open to see the person she was expecting to see.
"Hey, babe," Dave said with a smile on his face before taking a step closer to her.
Emma didn\'t reply and just stared at him in a way that was starting to confuse him now.
"Babe." The goalkeeper called.
The response he got was a kick on his right shin.
"Awwww." He winced before flinging his leg to shake off the pain. "What was that for?"
"For not calling me and getting me worried." She said, looking at him with a straight face.
"I thought you said you had forgiven me." The goalkeeper said.
"Yeah, but still you\'ll have to suffer the consequences of your action." She said,
"And that kick was it," Dave said.
"Yeah."
"So, we\'re good now."
Emma didn\'t reply for a while and just stared at him before a smile appeared on her face.
"Yeah, we\'re good." She said before slowly putting her arms around his neck. "So how did it go?" She asked, staring directly into his eyes.
"Everything went perfectly." He said.
"That\'s good to hear, do you mind telling me about it? But first." She said before gently pressing her lips against his.
After that, the two made their way to the couch and sat down there, and while Dave was telling her about his day, she was busy bringing out all the stuff that was in the bag, the goalkeeper made sure to filter out the part about him and Clark racing the rain to get to their destination.
<Yeah, she won\'t be happy if she finds out that you were racing on the streets of Lospeno in the daytime>
\'Not happy is an understatement.\'
Inside Dave\'s bag was a full kit, Unique FC\'s away jersey which was black with small purple dots but Footy Wears added a little shade of purple to the black part of the jersey to make it look nicer and that really did the trick, there was also a pair of golden boots mixed with a little white design.
The next item was a big sports jacket which was divided equally into black and purple colors on both sides.
"I guess there isn\'t much of a difference between them and the two Adidas and Nike." She said as she lifted the jacket to check how big it was.
"Yeah, except that Adidas and Nike are bigger and more popular," Dave said.
"Yeah." She said before dropping the jacket on the ground and dipped her hand into the bag to bring out a pair of orange socks with purple designs and a pair of purple shin guards. "I guess purple\'s their signature color.
"Yeah," Dave said with a nod.
"What\'s this?" She said before pulling out a black scarf that had hexagonal purple designs running throughout its middle. "A scarf and it feels quite thick."
"It will look pretty on you, try it on," Dave said.
"Okay," Emma said before wrapping the scarf around her neck.
"Just like I said, it looks pretty on you." The goalkeeper said.
"Thanks." She said before pulling out the last item in the bag which was a pair of purple gloves that immediately caught his eye.
The gloves looked exactly like the one he had signed for a young girl earlier today. They looked like the gloves his mother bought for him when he was a child, the only difference was that this one was bigger and the design was a bit different.
"Let me see that." He said before quickly snatching the gloves from her.
Just looking at the gloves was bringing back memories of all the moments shared with his mother.
\'Mom.\'
"What is it?" Emma asked with a low voice before shifting closer to him.
"You remember when I told you that my first gloves were purple?" The goalkeeper asked.
"Yeah, I remember," Emma replied.
"I met a girl at the airport today."
"A girl?"
"Yeah, a young girl, she had exactly the same gloves, and she wanted me to sign them for her, I later found out that those gloves were her first gloves and she got them on her eleventh birthday just like I did and she wanted to be a professional footballer, a goalkeeper." Dave expressed. "Looking at her reminded me of myself except that she seemed to be way more confident than I was at her age."
Emma didn\'t say anything immediately and just stared at him for a while before turning her gaze to the gloves he was holding.
"And these gloves look like them too." She said,
"Yeah," Dave said with a nod before closing his eyes and slowly opening them again. "Brings back the memories of my mother."
"It\'s okay," Emma said before slowly putting her head on his shoulder. "It\'s sad that your mother had to go but I\'m here for you now."
"Emma." He muttered.

Just five minutes after falling asleep, the goalkeeper found himself in the endless white space, and this time he didn\'t have to start looking for Catherine because she was standing right in front of him.
"Hello, Dave." She said,
"Catherine," Dave said. "Can I get something intense today, I feel like going intense?" He requested.
"Intense in what sense?" Catherine asked.
"Something that\'s hard and requires shooting." He said.
"Hard and requires shooting huh, I think I know the right one." She said,
Suddenly the whole place began to change until he was standing on an empty pitch, there weren\'t even goalposts there.
"What\'s the idea here, Catherine?"
"There are small goalposts hidden underground thirty yards away from you."
He heard her voice and quickly turned to see her standing behind him.
"What type of goalposts?" He asked.
"The smallest ones." She replied.
"How many of them?"
"Ten."
"Okay, do you mind explaining the details of the training then?"
"Yeah, the nets will be randomly popping up at constant speeds, you have twenty balls which means you have two tries to score in all ten posts, you have forty minutes to do that."
After saying that, she vanished as twenty balls appeared beside the goalkeeper.
One of the goalposts quickly popped up from the ground but before he could pull one of the balls closer and do anything, it disappeared as another one pulled up a few distances ahead of it.
"Now!" He yelled before kicking the ball toward the goalpost.
He was on target but before the ball could roll into the goalpost, it went back into the ground.
"Now, I\'ve got nineteen balls with ten posts to score, this is going to be tough."
\'You asked for it.\'
