Undefeatable – League of Legends

Chapter 384: Show Them What You’re Made Of

Chapter 384: Show Them What You’re Made Of

Team Sunlight had already been communicating very closely with Bing Bing. All they had been waiting for was for Demacia Cafe to come up to promote themselves, they didn’t care about the 30,000 RMB cash prize whatsoever, their streams provide them with more than enough income, added on to their unique promotion methods.

Team Sunlight’s leader was Bing Bing, and the kid liked to hang around Demacia Cafe whenever he was free, especially since Demacia Cafe was Xuhui’s Club Sunlight’s biggest competitor. They had beaten the previous defending team into submission, and all of a sudden, this random team popped up from God knows where and somehow stacked the prize to a solid 30,000 RMB!

Well then, keep stacking it up! 30,000 RMB wasn’t a particularly large sum of money, at least not for high-class clubs like Club Sunlight.

But then that Lei guy had gone and gotten the media involved, looking to do a large-scale promotion on the internet and television, now that wouldn’t do.

Club Sunlight had its main focus on LOL as well, if they were to let Demacia Cafe have the title of Number 1 LOL Club, who would still come to Club Sunlight? If they continued to spread their influence into the streaming scene, their Club Sunlight would be finished!

This would be their only shot at stopping them now, there wouldn’t be a second chance.

“Bing Bing says we’re on!” Team Sunlight’s Nine Days laughed.

Nine Days had (or was trying to have) a goatee, which looked rather strange, but he probably thought it made him look like a hipster or something.

“We’ve never seen any videos of them, is this defending team any good?”

“If they could get the prize money rolling to thirty thousand, they’re probably not just your average team. I’m guessing they’re above-average career players who haven’t won any high-profile competitions yet,” their Jungler, Golden Ray said.

“Don’t worry, it’s not like we haven’t beat those self-proclaimed career teams anyway!” Nine Day replied smoothly.

“Yeah, and Bing Bing said that their Support is a total troll, the bottom lane should be a piece of cake!”

Team Sunlight weren’t lacking in the confidence department, they wouldn’t have gotten the success they had if they didn’t have at least decent skills, and a lot of professionals watched their streams too, after all.

They had tried their hands at professional matches before, wanting to make a name for themselves, but as luck would have it, they couldn’t play at their best then, getting beaten by some other teams. If they had been able to play to their true potential, the entire LPL would’ve been done for! Those thoughts allowed Team Sunlight to hold their heads up high as they took bold strides into Demacia Cafe.

They were on a mission, coming to trash the scene, but when they saw the hostess with her perky bosom, they couldn’t help but get a little nervous.

However, they had to maintain their aura of professionalism, and so, they weren’t about to say anything weird.

“Enough with the chit-chat, let’s settle this on the rift!” Bing Bing confidently announced.

Free media coverage too, there couldn’t have been a more opportune moment to reveal their power!

Boss Lei huffed at the sight of Bing Bing’s excitement.

You’ll get your just desserts.

“Luocheng, if there aren’t any objections, let’s start,” Boss Lei said to Luocheng.

“No rush.” Luocheng took a look at the camera and walked over.

The hostess promptly shifted her focus onto Luocheng, after all, these two teams were going to clash as representatives of Shanghai’s most well-known cybercafes.

“If i remember correctly, you said that your Team Sunlight could easily compete against LPL professionals?” Luocheng said in an eerily calm voice.

“We would never make such claims, it was the fans that said that,” Bing Bing replied with a glint in his eye.

“It doesn’t matter who said it, I’m here to tell you, garbage teams like yours who only know how to stir up drama shouldn’t dirty the name of LPL Teams. You don’t even deserve to walk the same ground as them!” Luocheng raised his voice in anger, pointing an accusatory finger at Bing Bing.

“You...you...” Bing Bing hadn’t expected Luocheng to go off on them like that!

“This is the leader of the defending team, it looks like he has his own opinion of Team Sunlight’s strength. Well then, enough with the pleasantries, let’s settle this with a game of League of Legends, shall we?” The hostess swiftly changed topics to avoid a full-on argument breaking out.

“Hmph, yeah, what’s with all the big talk, just get into a game! Team Sunlight already has LPL-level skills, playing against you losers will be a walk in the park!” One of the brain-dead fans piped up.

“Hilarious, even the troll Support has come up to talk. How about you get your Support a*s to Gold before you come out here to whine, huh!”

Luocheng ignored all those idiots who didn’t know what they were talking about, speaking plainly to Team Sunlight, “Professional players playing against you measly little nothings? We won’t even give you the chance to surrender.”

With that, Luocheng led his team to sit at their stations.

Not giving them any chance to surrender, they were going to be over with Team Sunlight in 20 minutes flat!

Those weren’t words just anybody could say. 20 minutes in LOL was a sort of cut-off point, and if your team couldn’t even survive 20 minutes against another team, that spoke miles about how weak your team was!

Bing Bing’s face flushed red up to the tips of his ears.

He had thought that no one could one-up him with what he had said on screen, who would’ve thought that this defending team’s leader would walk right up and declare that they would be K.O.-ed by 20!

Even LPL teams didn’t dare to talk like that and this little Silver-ranked troll Support had the gall to utter those words in front of an audience!? I swear I will make you my b*tch by the end of the game!

Bing Bing knew that they shouldn’t start arguing on-screen, for whoever lost their cool first would be ridiculed online, so he shut his mouth and led his team over to their spots, officially taking on the defending team.

“Are they really Team Sunlight?”

“Probably, hasn’t Nine Days posted some videos? Isn’t that Nine Days?”

“Wow, this is the first time I’m seeing LOL Gods this close!” a fangirl said under her breath.

“We can finally see Nine Days’ God-like outplays live, that’s so sick.”

“Let’s hope the defending team can even last the first 20 minutes.”

“Yeah, if the bottom lane manages to not get totally destroyed, I’m buying an annual pass here at Demacia Cafe.”

Team Sunlight were immensely popular and thus, a lot of the regulars at Demacia Cafe were turning their backs on the defending team.

No wonder Boss Lei couldn’t wait to get the media exposure. If Team Sunlight were left to their own devices, Demacia Cafe would be out of business because everyone would be going to Club Sunlight to see their “Gods”!

“The battle of the century is about to begin, I’m sure the viewers at home are as excited as I am to bear witness to this exhilarating competition! We’ll soon cut to footage taken directly from the Summoner’s Rift, so grab a buddy and let’s all cheer for these two teams!” The hostess said with a bright smile on her face.

The screen cut to an overview of the battlefield. Boss Lei had specially hired professional LOL analysts to narrate over their battle, and the footage was quickly switched to show the two narrators.

They quickly entered the Champion Selection screen and Luocheng glanced at his team members, “Show them what you’re made of.”

Da Luo, Lin Dong, Wu Sen, and Zhou Yan nodded. This time, they didn’t pick any off-meta champions, they were playing their mains.

Seeing the defending team choose serious champions, Jian Feng couldn’t help but jump in anticipation.

Team Skycrown were finally going to show their true potential. They had been training here for so long, it was about time they showed these regulars how a real LPL player played!

“I’m not imagining things, right? They’re actually playing their mains!” Next to Jian Feng, K stared wide-eyed at the screen in disbelief.

K spent most of his weekends in Shanghai now, sitting and mindlessly watching Team Skycrown compete. He had hoped to be able to learn something from them, but he had never gotten the chance to see them play their main champions.

But this time... this time, his chance had come!

He quickly fished out his phone to call that idiot Xu Ben, he knew that the latter would go crazy!

Oh right, he didn’t know if he could even make it all the way here from Hangzhou... hehehe!

***

Da Luo had the first pick, choosing top lane’s Exemplar of Demacia, Jarvan!

On the opposite side, Nine Days made the interesting choice of Jax.

A smile tugged at the corner of Da Luo’s lips as he saw Nine Days choose Jax!

Playing Jax against me? Jax was one of Da Luo’s best champions and he knew every strength that he had, but also every weakness.

For the middle lane, Wu Sen sniped his beloved Dark Sovereign, Syndra, laning against Team Sunlight’s Ahri.

Syndra could zone out Ahri easily with her balls, this might be easier than they thought.

Jungler Zhou Yan chose Olaf while the opponent chose the high mobility Spider Queen, Elise.

When it came to burst damage, Olaf wouldn’t lose to Elise, but his ganks were definitely not as good as the agile Spider Queen.

Bottom lane was facing Bing Bing’s Support and Scorch’s ADC, and they chose the aggressive combination of Leona and Draven.

Seeing the enemy choose Leona, Luocheng immediately went for Alistar.

Alistar wasn’t picked much in the sea of strong Supports like Zyra, Annie, Fiddlesticks, Leona, Thresh, etc., but against specific matchups, an Alistar could make a lethal impact on the enemy team.

Most importantly, Alistar could hard-counter Leona!

Luocheng was already undefeated when he played Support, and with an Alistar...

It was starting to look like they didn’t even need 20 minutes to teach this self-important Team Sunlight and their Fans a hard lesson.

Lin Dong as the ADC chose the currently very popular Sivir.

In all honesty, if Luocheng was supporting, Lin Dong could even play a Teemo ADC and everything would still go just as smoothly.

However, since Luocheng had given orders to hold nothing back, he chose Sivir as he had been playing a lot of games with her recently. He would let his main, Ezreal, rest for a little while longer.

Ah, it felt good! Lin Dong finally didn’t have to 1 vs 3 his way through the bottom lane!
