Chapter 51 - Lost His Way
He pressed the button, but the screen did not change. It did not show anything.
"Why the hell is the elevator not opening? Damn it. I am way too strapped for time. I better use the stairs.", Raphael cursed as he turned around. He twirled the sword in his hands, and it started to shrink until it became the size of a pocketable toy. He slid it in his pocket as he continued to run up the stairs.
In a few seconds, he was at the entrance to the second floor.
Now, Raphael\'s face was truly funny to behold. His face was ajar, and his hands drooped down.
"What the hell happened here?", he wondered out loud.
In front of him, the labyrinth that was supposed to be there, was completely destroyed halfway, Because of what Lucas did, there was a hole in the walls that led to the center of the maze, and beyond that, there were walls.
"What the hell irritated Lucas so much for him to crush every wall like this? He could have just let Eva take care of this part.", he sighed as he started walking through the walls.
A few bits and pieces of the walls still crumbled down, and as Raphael walked through this laid out path, his shoulders got very messy.
"Well, I do not know whether I should be thankful or sad that I missed a spectacle like this.", Raphael thought as he got to the room in the center. He stopped for a moment.
"Now where do I go?", he paused for a moment. He left the room and turned left and right. After shaking his head multiple times, he decided to go left. Again, he was met with another crossroads. He was met with choice upon choice, and after five minutes, he was stopped by a dead end.
"Damn it!", Raphael hit the wall next to him with frustration. It did not even budge, except for a little dust that fell on his head.
"How the hell do I get through a maze when I do not know where the hell I even am?", he shouted out loud with frustration.
He turned back around to trace back his steps. He remembered every step that he took, and every turn that he took. He slowly retraced back to the center room.
"Right. This time I will go right.", he decided.
Taking this turn, he was immediately met with a choice of going left or right. He chose to go left, and this time, he saw a huge wall blocking him off.
"Again!", Raphael cried with disbelief. "I should have Eva next to me for this. Anyways, she hates Lucas.", he sighed. He went back to the center room, and this time, entered it.
The room was circular, and there was a secret room that was now open to all. It was where Meredith\'s real body was controlling the labyrinth.
"Why the hell not.", he shrugged as he entered the secret room. He stepped in, and the moment he did, he felt a little light headed. He stepped back into the main room almost immediately.
"And another dead end. You have got to be kidding me. This is why you should wait. You were so impatient, and now here I am lost in a goddamn maze.", Raphael cursed.
"Achoo!", above Raphael, on the third floor, Lucas sneezed all of a sudden. "Who the hell is speaking about me behind my back?", he cursed.
Back in the second floor, Raphael left the center room.
"Should I just blast through every single wall like Lucas did?", he wondered out loud.
Buzzz. All of a sudden, his pocket vibrated.
"All right. I won\'t. Don\'t worry.", he said with a soft tone.
"Wait a minute. That\'s right!", he exclaimed as he took out his cell phone. He dialed a number and called it.
"Are you an idiot? We are in foreign territory and the one thing that you can think of is to call?", an irritated voice came from the other end of the phone.
"I had no choice. Put Eva on the phone. I need to get out of this labrynith. I am stuck, and I do not want to keep walking around here forever.", he said.
"You are in the labrynith? Alright. No wonder you weren\'t with us by the time we were going to the next floor. You didn\'t have a guide."
"Just shut up Arthur, and put Eva on the phone.", Raphael said.
"Alright, alright. Why are you so testy?", Arthur sighed.
"What is it?", Eva\'s voice came from the voice.
"I am in front of this circular room, and I am facing it. Should I take a left or a right?", Raphael asked.
"Take a left.", she said.
"Alright.", Raphael turned left and he was greeted with a similar choice of turns.
"What next?", he asked.
"Take a right.", Eva said.
"A right? Damn it! I took a left.", Raphael cursed as he took a right. After walking a little, he came across another broken wall. He crossed over it, and finally, he was out of the labrynith. He took a fresh breath of air.
"Thanks! I will go to the third floor soon. Wait for me.", he said.
"Hello?", he spoke again. "Hello?"
"What the hell happened to you guys? Eva? Are you there? Why are you not responding?", Raphael asked frantically.
All of a sudden, he heard a loud roar in the phone.
"I know this sound. Goddamn it, how the hell is there a Minotaur in new york?", Raphael cursed as he ran towards the stairs.
