Another Stupid Isekai

Chapter 3

When I finally woke up, my body ached all over. I didn\'t sleep for too long, because of noises from the outside, and on top of that, I was still starving. Fortunately, the rest was long enough for me to function. Immediately I started thinking about the discoveries I made last night. Sense of pride was strong, but it had to give way to fear, of things to come.

People soon will try to figure out how to get more points, and blood will be spilled – I thought to myself.

I didn\'t want that to happen. I wanted to stay as far away as I could from it. Why? It disgusted me, and I was afraid. Take other people\'s life just to prolong my misery in this place? No, never. Don\'t understand me wrong, I\'m not trying to describe myself as a hero. I wasn\'t one. If it was an RPG game, I would probably be a side character who needs somebody to show him the way, but it wasn\'t, and there was nobody to depend on. I felt alone, so I had to fight alone. Hiding, and waiting like fucking coward. Pathetic, but that\'s how it was.

I got outside, carefully so nobody would see me. This was a good spot, and I didn\'t want to lose it.

I took my time to get to the city center from another direction. Around the device formed a small crowd, probably trying to figure out its secrets. Some people were talking, others were working, cleaning buildings, a very few were eating. Fruits and vegetables were on the menu for now, since we couldn\'t make a fire to cook meat, but I noticed a couple of people not giving up, and working to solve that problem.

Aisha was not present, as were a few others whose faces I memorized. They probably went to look around the city. It was a boring day which I spent mainly walking around and trying to eavesdrop on other people\'s conversations. I wanted to figure out what\'s on their minds.

While doing that I found two good pieces of wood that could work as clubs, so I took them to my hideout. I also spent another four points to buy two apples, so there were 92 points left. At dawn, Aisha came back, but we didn\'t talk. She clearly made some new friends, like most people. I noticed that many tried to cling to strong-looking individuals. It confirmed my worries.. Something was going to go down very soon, so I decided to keep my distance.
